| | Introduction | National Inspection Testing Certification (NITC) is a third-party provider of certification services to the Piping Industry. We test and certify personnel in the Plumbing, Piping, HVACR and Related Piping Industries. NITC also specializes in Test Development and Test Administration and is ISO 9001:2008 certified and offer a large number of personnel certifications that include but are not limited to Journey and Mastery Levels, Medical Gas, IAPMO Voluntary Plumbing and Mechanical Inspector, and assorted City, County and State Government requirements. NITC is non-discriminatory in accepting applications and issuing certifications to candidates in regards to membership in any trade, association, union, etc., and is in compliance with Federal and State ADA regulations.
This certification is designed to test the knowledge that a journey level plumber has of the Uniform Plumbing Code published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO). The NITC journey level plumber certification is based on a 100 question written examination consisting of questions on general knowledge of plumbing, drainage, waste and vent, water distribution and fuel gas piping from the 2009 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code. | | To Qualify | Candidates must have a minimum of four (4) years experience in installation of piping systems. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or proof of four (4) years experience from employers is necessary.
You must submit proof of four years of experience in your specialty. Testimonial letters from employers are required if you do not possess a valid journeyman certificate substantiating the required experience. Testimonial letters must be on company letterhead and notarized. They must fully describe duties performed, dates employed, and be accompanied with W-2 Forms.
